Remember that HTC handset that looks so much like a BlackBerry? Well release date here for all who care along with some hardware specific information

HTC is eyeing to set the Maple free next month in the United States, it is not yet known how much the phone will go for, or which mobile network was chosen to carry the thing. All this information should be unveiled to us during this year CTIA starting April 1st, I hope HTC doesn't slap an expensive price tag on this phone because from the looks of things, the Maple is nothing mind blowing.

Another thing you should be aware of is that the HTC Maple will feature Touch Flo 3D, not allot of real estate on the display to perform touchy feely stuff but a worthy addition nonetheless.

tinyBasic is just a developer's game, the development of a minimalist Basic interpreter for Palm by using iziBasic.

Tiny BASIC started out as a way to get a BASIC running in the minimum amount of memory space (~2 KBytes), because RAM used to be very expensive and home computers would only have a few KB of RAM back in the 1970's.

My Tiny BASIC dialect, that I just called "tinyBasic", is similar and loosely based on the Intel 8080 Tiny BASIC written by Li Chen Wang and appearing in Doctor Dobb's Journal of Computer Calisthenics & Orthodontia in the May 1976 issue.

tinyBasic is developed with the iziBasic compiler for Palm OS handheld devices.

The source code of tinyBasic is provided in the download file (please see instructions in the readme file).

Although this is of limited use setting a file to 'hidden' will generally hide the file from programs that scan for file types. For example hiding a .jpg file will mean it is no longer visible in the Gallery application.

Hooray for Widgets, Windows Mobile 6.5 will indeed have support for these little apps living on our screens day in and day out.

Let the programming begin, come whenever M$ chooses to unleash Windows Mobile 6.5 upon us all, users will be able to download simple Widget applications for their handsets, these apps will be built using HTML, and Javascript alone currently, I hope to see support for HTML5 and CSS later down the line. Widgets will run through the IE6 Mobile Engine, so expect most Widgets to be linked to the Internet.

Looking at the image you will notice two widgets, MSN Weather, and MSN Money, both are linked to the web and cannot perform accordingly without a connection. I am excited to see what developers will come up with once they get their musky hands on the tools to perform Wigetery wonders.

Nokia unveils three new music phones

Nokia today introduced three new music phones: the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, Nokia 5330 XpressMusic and Nokia 5030 in a bid to expand its music range to different price points.

Nokia also said that it has sold 425 million phones with built-in digital music players and over 700 million units with an FM radio.

The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is Nokia's first music phone to come with a full QWERTY keyboard which should be a delight to music lovers who are also into quick and furious messaging.

The phone also has dedicated gaming keys, making it "a true N-Gage gadget".

The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic will roll out in the third quarter of 2009 and will have a price of about 280 Euros (before subsidies and taxes).

The Nokia 5330 XpressMusic meanwhile is aimed at music lovers who wish to always keep tabs of their social networks. It has XpressMusic touch keys on the side for quick access to music, a standard 3.5mm audio jack, and an extended battery offering over 26 hours of playback time.

Nokia said that this model "provides access to sites that specialize in online sharing, including Ovi, Facebook, and MySpace".

It will also roll out in the third quarter of the year and will sell for about 160 Euros.

Finally, there is the Nokia 5030, Nokia's first phone to come equipped with an internal FM radio antenna so headset or external speakers are no longer required to play your favorite FM stations.

Targeting "emerging markets", Nokia said that the Nokia 5030 may be used as a portable radio, thanks to its long battery life (up to a day of listening time and 10 hours of talk time), and a powerful loudspeaker. It will be available in graphite and red models.

It will be available in the second quarter of 2009. The price? A smashing 40 Euros!
